Graduate Program FAQs
How can I work while studying in the U.S.?
International students may qualify for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) during their studies and Optional Practical Training (OPT) after graduation. In addition, CPT allows you to take positions tied to your field of study, while OPT provides up to 12 months of post-graduation work authorization (with a 24-month STEM extension for eligible programs).
Which graduate programs are offered?
All U.S. work study programs available include the Executive MBA, DBA, PhD in Organizational Leadership, and STEM master’s degrees in Information Systems, Data Analytics, and Healthcare Analytics.
What are the financial options for international graduate students in the U.S.?
Firstly, there’s a $6,000 grant for the Executive MBA at Alliant University, scholarships for eligible students, and biweekly payment plans for program costs while you study and work. In addition, students can offset tuition costs because they are able to earn an income through authorized jobs connected to their degree. As a result, international students have multiple ways to make graduate study in the U.S. more affordable.
How do I know which program and visa option is right for my career path?
Choosing the right program depends on your academic history, long-term goals, and visa status. Our advisors guide you through graduate program selection, CPT and OPT eligibility, and Change of Status (J-1 to F-1) options if you’re already in the U.S.
