Transferring your record requires careful coordination between your "Transfer-Out" school (your current one) and your "Transfer-In" school (Alliant).

Transfer Release Date: Choose a date with your current DSO to "release" your SEVIS record.

Transfer FAQs

Do I need to pay the SEVIS I-901 fee again?

No. As long as you maintain your status and transfer your record within the required grace period, your original SEVIS fee payment remains valid.

What is the "Transfer-Out" deadline?

You must transfer your record within 60 days of your program completion or OPT end date. However, for Day 1 CPT, we recommend starting the process 3-4 weeks earlier.

Can I travel during a SEVIS transfer?

Yes, but you must travel with the I-20 from the school that currently "owns" your record, or wait until the transfer is complete to travel with your new Alliant I-20. Consult with us before booking flights.
