Required Graduate School Documents and Information
You’ve found the perfect fit with one of the graduate programs at Alliant International University. Now, it’s time to gather and prepare your application documents. To ensure a smooth application process, here’s a list of essential documents and requirements you’ll need. Take note that some additional documents may be specific to certain programs, so it’s always best to double-check with admissions.
Official Transcripts
First, gather your official transcripts. You will need transcripts from your Bachelor’s degree and any other qualifying degrees from a regionally accredited university. If you are applying for a Doctoral program, some require a Master’s degree transcript as well. Each transcript should reflect academic credibility and confirm you meet the required prerequisites.
Minimum GPA Requirement
A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is typically required. Admissions counselors will use this GPA to assess your academic qualifications. If you meet or exceed this benchmark, it reflects well on your potential as a graduate student.
Personal Narrative or Essay
Next, prepare a personal narrative. This essay should be 2–4 pages if you’re applying for a Master’s degree. For Doctoral programs, a 4–6-page essay is required. The essay serves as an opportunity to tell your story, explain your career goals, and demonstrate your alignment with the program’s values.
Two Recommendation Letters
Most programs require two recommendation letters. Select references who know you well and can speak to your strengths, both personally and professionally. These letters provide an external perspective on your abilities and potential as a student.
Current Resume or CV
Include a current resume or curriculum vitae (CV) with your application. This document should showcase your academic background, relevant work experience, and any professional achievements. Make sure it’s clear, organized, and relevant to the program you’re applying to.
