Student Visa Questions
What is a J-1 Visa?
The J-1 visa category in the United States is designed for individuals seeking participation in exchange and visitor programs that combine work and study opportunities. These programs are sponsored by educational or nonprofit institutions, accredited through the Exchange Visitor Program designated by the U.S. State Department. J-1 exchange visitors arrive in the United States to engage in activities such as teaching, studying, receiving training, or demonstrating special skills. Specifically, the J-1 visa is suitable for students who require practical training not accessible in their home country, with the training being directly relevant to their academic program.
What is a F-1 Visa?
The F-1 Visa, also known as the Academic Student Visa, grants you the opportunity to enter the United States as a full-time student in various educational institutions such as accredited colleges, universities, seminaries, conservatories, academic high schools, elementary schools, or language training programs. To be eligible, you must be enrolled in a program or course of study that leads to the completion of a degree, diploma, or certificate. It is important to ensure that your chosen educational institution is authorized by the U.S. government to enroll international students.
